Welcoming local producer, dj and musician JXTPS for the latest melt mix. He's got a range of releases under a variety of aliases spanning multiple genres from hypnotic techno to ambient and house. This mix treats us to a beautfiully curated sonic journey of trippy idm, tech and more.

Some words about the mix from the artist himself:

"Its hard to talk about a mix and the ideas behind it as sometimes the decisions behind it can seem arbitrary. I once asked a DJ about them playing Green Velvet's "the Flash" and they explained the decision to play it was based on the fact there were a lot of very wasted looking people at the front of the audience. I'm still not a hundred percent sure what that meant exactly. 

Unlike other mixes where I've thought of them more purely sonically, for instance - "what would Deep Techno sound like at 160BPM?" this one was almost prog rock conceptual and a little bit emotional. At the time of recording it a number of people associated with the music scene had passed away. So I imagined the journey of this mix to be the journey of the soul in the psychedelic realms post death going from catharsis to a release of sorts. That may sound like some lovely hokum and I'm sure it is but in an abstract sense that's the best way I can put it."

Techno duo LSS release new single 'Mortal Engines' of their debut EP on Kinetic Vision. Ser to release on Dec 23th, the puncy single observes the fundamentals of hypnotic techno with nod to EBM and Electro.
The 6th track EP covers the gamut of modern techno ranging from hard and driving to deep and hypnotic.
LSS formed back in 2020, during the lockdown, combining the talents of producers Edward Richards and Luc P (JXTPC). They formed the Australian label Kinetic Vision after as a place to release their original projects.
Known for their epic live hardware sets LSS have fast established themselfs as one of Melbourns premiere live techno acts.
