When he is not performing or travelling, he spends most of his time at the second home – the studio. He´s living and breathing techno music and creates enthusiastically his own music styles and he sees himself pretty lucky, because he had, and hopefully also has in future, the privilege to travel to plenty of places allover the planet to perform and present his music. In some of them, mexCalito is already a well-known and familiar name.

He walks through his life with a hedonistic lightness, a marvellous togetherness is essential and also necessary for him. He bubbles with energy and is an integral part in organizing parties. His sound is characterized by frisky and deep and rolling basses and a experimental hypnotic groove. He takes the crowd on its tapestry of sounds and creates a sensational vibe and atmosphere and which leads to a deep energetic level of mind. His unique music style is a composition between techno, zenonesque, minimal and is influenced by a haunting psychedelic groove. Driving psycho synth tones with bubbling and fizzy sounds arisen from another world and also his freakish and funky drive will kick you into yet unknown dimensions, which guarantee an exceptional physical experience on your journey and on the dancefloors.

He is active in Germany and India’s Techno underground scene and has performed unique hybrid sets in Europe, Australia, the USA, and Asia. His deep affection for minimal techno can be heard in releases for labels like Dark Face Recordings, Trapez Ltd., AlpaKa Muzik, Techgnosis, Gain Records, Frequenza, Phobos, Ballroom Records, Jannowitz, Creepy Fingers, Evil Flow, Hydrozoa, Bully Beatz, and his very own Soupherb Records to name a few. He has been recognized for his achievements and has been MyFav India's 'Best Techno DJ' for the year 2014, VH1 Sound Nation's 'Best Electronic DJ’, ‘Producer of the Year’ at MyFav awards 2015 and 2016. Features in Mixmag, Rolling Stone, DJ Mag NL, Faze Mag, Euphoric Mag validates his steadfast approach to his work.
He made his debut at Netherland’s Awakenings in 2017 and was invited again the following year. 2019 was his debut at Esoteric Festival Australia which initiated a 6 gig Australian tour. In 2021 he played on the iconic stage Turmbühne at Fusion Festival's Plan:et C, and also made his debut at Wurzel Festival, Germany.

Techgnosis Sessions 079 - Kinimal [AU]

On the saturday night, November 16 2024, we had the honor of hosting an AlpaKa Showcase at Hamburg's most legendary underground techno club! SUDPOL!

We are still in disbelief with the response from the crowd towards our music, the incredible hospitality and love from the staff and overall such a perfect clubbing experience. Selling out the club during our 9 hour main stage showcase is just unreal! BIG BIG THANKS to the Sudpol crew and everyone who showed up and brought the best energy!

ShadowHunter - Born in Mauritius

From the early 2000s, ShadowHunter has been actively involved in the electronic music nightlife scene. He comes from major trance influences such as the likes of John Digweed, Dubfire & Steve Lawler. His tastes evolved and he felt driven to Underground Techno, inspired by Mauritian local Djs such as Mezzle, Ken Zo, Spectrum and other pioneers of the local underground scene.

2020 is the year he transitions to Djing. Learning from well established Mauritian DJ & Producer rAin(MU), he develops his DJing skills & techniques playing Dark, Bush, Minimal & Psy Techno. He explores these sub-genres in depth, curating music from the most respected labels as well as fishing for the underrated talents.

Now based in Montreal, ShadowHunter has become part of Alpaka Muzik as a Resident DJ. His zeal for crafting memorable sets and building profound connections drives his journey.
