Italian-born, Berlin-based artist VSK delivers his first solo release of 2023. The DJ, producer and familiar face on 47’s back catalogue blends searing techno with trippy motifs, building signature soundscapes, knife-edged textures and misty atmospheres.

Following his collaboration with Flaminia last year on 47, VSK dips into a haunting sound palette on 47036, fusing foreboding feels with an astral touch. The opener, “Sfere a Contatto”, sets the tone with a claustrophobic melody and noise-driven background, while “Terza Variabile” melds squelchy synth notes with marching kickdrums, evoking a menacing mood. On the B-side, the punchy “Ottimizzazion” stitches drone-like notes against a gravelly background, creating tension and a sense of unease. The final track, “Codici e Figure”, displays VSK’s broken-beat stylings, mutating witchy aesthetics and mechanical whirrs to stimulate a surreal, skin-crawling trip.

47036 will be released on June 16th, available as limited edition vinyl and digital formats.

Etang Brulant is bringing the first release of a fresh duo, formed by the french sound engineer and composer Ida, and the french-serbian comedian and vocalist Anna Bozovic. Strongly linked, in many ways, to the awful year our world is passing by, this 3-track project is a mesmerizing tale about the fear of future, and the helplessness one can be facing at any time of its life. The incapacity to seize the opportunity of an evolution - like watching seasons go by in the painful outfit of the spectator, the passive viewer who can’t do anything. « Le Ciel Rouge » (meaning « The Red Sky » in french) is also an ecological reflection about the stressful and harrowing direction our mother earth is taking, and the unstoppable destruction of things, parcels, woods, or soils.

SOJ always works within an industrial sound context, but his works can be based only on small details that finally lead us back to this countercultural environment, elements of this genre, which later feed on other external nuances.

Infidel Bodies is the record label that publishes this new reference from the head of Soil Records. Its 10 original tracks combine different rhythmic structures with harmonic textures, each of them has a different charisma than the rest, with influences from styles such as dark ambient, techno or experimental electronics, and with quite different composition patterns. To the 10 original tracks must be added 4 versions of WLDV, Unconscious, IV Horsemen and Filmmaker."

Ibtihal is an Arabic word that can be translated as a hard state to reach, a deep mental connection towards the within where a being can feel for the entity he is worshiping, an entity that can be benevolent or malevolent, obedient or imperious, from above or from below... A double-edged sabre.

"Al-Ibtihal" is an attempt to transcribe this feeling into the physical world through both visual and sonic mediums. The hour long album engulfs the two opposed sides of the same coin, depicted by the A-side and B-side of the tape.
