30 years ago, the week of July 10 1992, Ministry released the groundbreaking and legendary album Psalm 69. 20 years ago in 2002, the members of Shadows Emerging covered this song as an unnamed band. Over the years the 2 members recorded many different covers and original tracks, eventually naming themselves Rectifier in 2011. Then years passed. New interest and equipment was obtained in 2018 and they became Shadows Emerging. And with that, in 2022, we have recorded a new cover of Just One Fix. Celebrating both Ministry, and our own 20th anniversary as a band, in one form or another.

In 1970, Around the same time Black Sabbath was creating what most would argue to be the first metal album ever, there was another group called Black Widow. Their album contained a fun little tune called Come to the Sabbat that caught our ear recently. In the spirit of 50 years of heavy metal, here's a Pagan Rock song about summoning demons done with very ....... very heavy guitars. Enjoy.

Almost 40 years ago Metal Blade released a collection of songs that included the legendary Diamond Head version of Am I Evil. In the early 90s as a fledgling metal head I bought this tape at a convenience store for that song alone. The first song on the B side ended up getting listened to more ...... At the Gallows End by Candlemass. Prepare for some Goth Metal goodness. Let us take a trip to the Hills of Tyburn and lament on our collective sins ....... for the hang man awaits.

Continuing our dedication to 50 years of metal. We cannot ignore the Grunge Rock scene of the 90s. Influenced by classic rock and metal bands just as much as their metal cousins. Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Sound Garden, and many more bands helped shape Generation X's musical spectrum beyond the likes of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Danzig, and other 80s and 90s metal acts. Just under 30 years ago, alternative rock hit the mainstream with the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, and many more. As rock and metal fans we at Shadows Emerging enjoyed a wide variety of bands, both heavy and fun. We're also major computer and gaming nerds so naturally, we're gonna cover a song that was featured as an Easter egg on the original Windows 95 disc. So here's what I think is a pretty good cover of a Weezer song, as done by a metal band.
