AlpaKa MuziK is proud to present a fresh 6-track EP by Australian psychedelic techno producer Aleckat. It includes remixes by Aussie duo Handsdown & Leigh Boy and Canadian artist Mat Moebius.

Once again, Aleckat brings to the world an EP consisting of incredible beats that don't quite fit into any categroy you're familiar with. A genre-bending album incorporating a mixture of deep, hiphop inspired subs and earthquake inducing bass, before being peppered with the razor sharp psychedelica you've come to expect. He graces us with 4 amazing original tunes, that'll leave you wanting more.

We've asked a couple of very talented producers to get on remix duties;  Aussie techno heavyweights Handsdown & Leigh Boy for their debut on AlpaKa and our hometown psychedelic techno producer Mat Moebius. These two very different remixes wonderfully complete this 6-track EP with a little something you didn't even know you needed.

In her standard hellfire fashion, Shadow Wulf label boss Crescendoll brings a heavier sound to this minimal groover, flirting with the original stems from Dylan and Memo's Orbit, while adding a swinging mid bass, quick and playful percussion, massive synth stabs, and her signature twisted psychedelic effects, to give this track a unique psytech feel. In his trademark style on Dylan Andrew's title track Hornet's Nest---legendary dark minimal maestro Maksim Dark does what he does best -- a deep, dark, rolling bassline, multi-layered and swelling in and out with expert precision. The groove shuffles it way along with assured and leisurely pleasure, coy little effects peeking into the mix every so often, and complete with a saucy and gritty bass synth hit that equally amuses and thrills at every instance. In the title track on his debut EP for Shadow Wulf Records, Dylan Andrew blends grit with minimal, progressive, and psychedelic. Hornet's Nest aptly draws its name from the signature evolving buzzing effects moving swiftly and subtly throughout the stereo field, pricking the ears at each and every carefully crafted opportunity. Dylan drives this menacing groove with a thick, chunky bassline, growling synths, modulating acid riffs, and immense leads deftly balancing melody with savage ferocity. Like a nest engaging in a lethal attack on its willing victim, Hornet's Nest mobilizes a few subtle hornets circling before surrounding entirely as a vicious swarm, never letting up on the tantalizing assault...as if we would ever want it to.

Shadow Wulf emerged at the beginning of 2020 as the ferociously dark cub of existing House and Techno label Wulfpack. The new sister label was founded by producers Aaron Jacobs, Crescendoll (Erin Parisi), and Drew Blyther when they recognized an opportunity to fill a void in LA’s underground scene. Thanks to Shadow Wulf, the Dark Psytechno / Minimal Techno sounds more popular overseas have found their place in the den of Southern California. The founders have set out to collaborate with producers from around the world and provide a twisted auditory landscape for a global audience.
