In consideration for Adam Audio's Halloween Edition Soundtrack competition.

Whipped this up in about an hour, really struggled with fitting the end to the video - contest rules specify that the audio can't be longer than the video, but in a presentation scenario I would have let it fade to black and let the black hang for a bit while the reverb on the instruments tailed off.

There's some vocal panting I tracked in ADR fashion - I set it back in the mix as it's meant to be a musical competition but I couldn't resist dubbing in some panic to help the mood along. Scared panting by me also.

Adam Audio Halloween Soundtrack Competition entry: James Bethell

The mix as it was provided to me, no mix or processing whatsoever.

Mixing (hiphop) - Before

The artist's original recording was done with a shitty mic (I'd have rather mic'd him with my Neumann 103), did the best I could with a pawn shop mic, original beat track had been poorly mixed so again, did what I could to fix it. Gainstaged, vintage channel strips, sidechain compression, fuck ton of EQ (SSL SL 4000E), sonic balancing, also took a few liberties in post-production by adding a few elements.
