Eleazar has been involved in music his entire life. He began studying piano at the age of six and performing under the tutelage of world-renowned pianist Linda Genteel, at age ten. Tyrone, his brother, and he, both studied under jazz organist Radam Schwartz, where they began extensive training in hard bop & post-bop eras.  The Shafer brothers continued shedding and gigging, later developing a close apprenticeship with the legendary Shirley Scott. The brothers played under her guidance until she passed in 2002.
Eleazar’s aggressive and fiery approach to music has earned him the ear of critics. His relentlessly-attacking playing style is classic hip-hop infused bop with a heavy rock influence. Eleazar is currently working on his debut project “My Fair Lady” which will be released summer 2013.
