I never really got into Mac's music until WMWTSO came out.
I know better now, but back when he started, I overlooked him.
I was younger too, and very stupid, and I figured someone so popular couldn't be so talented.

I was wrong from the beginning, but he proved it to me year after year with his personal and musical growth.
When I finally started paying attention, I was instantly hooked. I followed every release and feature.

I'm a little less than a year younger than he was, so his music was in-step with me and so many others my age.
It was a rare case where we were privileged enough to see his progression from the very beginning.
For many of us, his experiences and struggles mirrored ours exactly. He found ways to transcribe our growing up.

The past few months have been rough, and Swimming was extremely therapeutic for me.
It truly came across like Mac was in a good space, ready to happily take on the next phase of his life. I learned a lot from it.

We lost the perfect example of how to make great music and be great person.

"It was around 2:30pm when Chesh arrived from Montreal to visit me in my beach-side humble abode. following a slew of life changes and financial rollercoaster rides we decided it was time to ingest as soon as he laid the luggage to the floor of my den. unsure of how much was allocated to the rolling papers he had neatly tucked away, we began to eat at random. three sentences ended abruptly and turned into one for a seemingly endless amount of time as we set out to seek refuge in the cosmos’ warm embrace. armed with nothing but a lack of mental composure, a plethora of tasty instrumentals from the illustrious Shag and shit eating grins, we linked up with the owner of Plastic Soul Studios. 

3 days later, this entire project had been written. 3 days following that, it had been recorded to completion. without further ado, I’d like for all who are currently reading this to open up their earmouths and allow us to place RARE CANDY on your audiotongues. have a nice trip."
