Glasgow funksters Shaka Loves You are riding high right now. Their monstrous single 'Boogie' alongside former Jurassic 5 member Fullee Love (aka Soup) has taken on a life of its own with many labelling it their track of the year. If you add to that their no.1 selling 'Disco Funkin'' compilation, they have set themselves quite a tough act to follow musically. However the new single 'Tonight' manages to deliver the goods and shows just how fast they are developing the Shaka Loves You sound. This time the duo have engaged the vocal talents of Amunda, lead singer from the band Bossy Love, who like SLY themselves are firm favourites with funk aficionado Craig Charles. In a new hot series of 7 inch vinyls we're ready to drop the second volume of the Toxic Funk to follow up after BadboE and Tom Showtime release that drop last year.
At BBP we've had our eyes on Gramophone Soul for a while and with his always on point productions and ability to always put the right samples together. That is a skill allows him to remix pretty much any genre of music and has earned him airtime in mixes by industry leaders like Krafty Kuts and Craig Charles on BBC.

With the second installment of the Toxic - Funk Gramophone Soul has cooked up two epic jams starting out with hard-hitting remix of the soulful Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay - mixed up with some classic vocals by the Beasties and some heavy hitting ghetto funk beats. That combined with some energetic bouncy bass lines makes this an instant classic for the dance floors.

The flipside takes a completely different approach by diving deep into the rare groove treasure chest and pick out a 60s sample on the epic Fire Cracker tune. Gramophone Soul does what he does best by changing just enough to keep it interesting for modern audience without destroying the groove of the original track. After releasing the second EP by the Funkin Basstards we though it would be appropriate to follow up with a remix EP of the 4 originals jams from the Drop The Mirrorball EP.To do that in style we hooked up with some of the best producers in the scene to all put their personal twist on these catchy disco bangers.
Starting this off with the label head honcho BadboE who comes heavily armed with the nu skool breaks and some silky smooth disco grooves for the Feel The Vibe track. A classic BadboE treatment with multiple sections of grooves to bring out the very best of the sweet vocals by Sofia Kamina.
To follow this up we&rsquo;ve turned to the true veteran from the funky breaks scene that can do no wrong when it comes to remixing. Jayl Funk is at it again with some well-arranged nu disco flavors to skillfully transform the lead track 2000 feat. Sofia Kamina into a smashing Jayl Funk anthem.
If you want the unspoiled breakbeat funk there is only one remixer to call for: Pecoe. He done a number on the originally mellow Drop The Mirrorball and turned it into a dancefloor breakbeat banger!
Last but not lease we wanted to turn up the heat a bit and invited the Sons of Satin to do some uptempo hardcore breaks remix of the Soul Disco jam.
