Shadows in Motion moves like a half-lit dream — a drifting pulse where light bends into shadow, and shadow into sound. Every beat feels like a step through the unknown, a fleeting glimpse of something just out of reach. It’s not about finding clarity, but about surrendering to the in-between.

As the ninth and final single leading up to the second album Moments Between (out November 14), Shadows in Motion shows Pillek at his most trip-hop-leaning. Built on downtempo beats and wrapped in an atmospheric, psychedelic haze, the track weaves in elements of hip-hop, soul, and jazz. And then there’s that smooth trumpet line — gliding effortlessly through the mix, giving the track its fluid charm.

The voice of Kaya fits seamlessly, like a velvet blanket around the arrangement, adding warmth and depth to the drifting textures. Meanwhile, the foundation of the track carries Pillek’s signature playfulness: “The beats, man… I just kept messing around — adding, stripping, layering again. At some point you have to stop and say: okay, this is it. It’s not perfect, but the imperfection is what gives the song its character.”

With Shadows in Motion, Pillek closes the single run for Moments Between on a hypnotic note — mysterious yet soothing, imperfect yet alive.

Geovana é carioca de pais senegaleses, nascida no bairro da Tijuca, criada na Rocinha. 

Apareceu inicialmente na Bienal do Samba de São Paulo no ano de 1971, quando defendeu o samba "Pisa nesse chão com força". 

Em 1975 lançou, pela gravadora BMG, o LP "Quem tem carinho me leva". Neste disco, produzido por Rildo Hora, foram incluídos sambas-afros como "Pisa nesse chão com força"e "Taturuê". O LP ainda contou com três arranjos do pianista Luiz Eça e a composição "Maitá", de autoria da cantora.

Have you ever wondered what throwing Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Notorious BIG, Gramatik, Tipper and great brazilian artists such as Tim Maia, Di Melo, Roberto Carlos and Sabotagem in a blender, grinding it all up and adding a touch of bass fuelled funky glitch madness in the mixture would sound like?

Well that’s exactly what the Shaka trio have cooked up for you! Originally from Florianópolis but now residing in the dense skyscraper forests of São Paulo, these three musical mad professors / funkenstein creators have been imploding dancefloors with their sonic treats across Brazil and the world.

They have played alongside Criolo, Marcelo D2, Otto, Black Alien, 5 a Seco, Tom Zé and Bixiga 70 in festivals and nightclubs such as Coala Festival, Tribaltech, Universo Paralello, Lions Nightclub and Clash Club amongst others. And have just recently had their first official release Spacefunk EP by Freshly Squeezed music reach a Top 5 position on Juno Download.
