"Your song, as many often are, combines elements of different forms. So you have an operatic avant-garde piece and almost a sonata in form, composition wise. The melody pulls from folk styles - it sounds like (traditional 5th and flat 3rd's?) -- Think Moody Blues meets Fairport Convention -- and of course Rock oriented instruments /instrumentals. It'd be cool if the screeners (UK Songwriting Contest 2014)see past some of the "dated' elements (styles that aren't on current charts) and judge higher on the melody and arrangement, because it's a rather cool and interesting piece. Kind of a quick fade on the coda at the end, but overall nice.

"How I Love the Rain' is a collaboration with my great songwriting partner, Kenny Hirsch. 

He came to the house on a fantastic rainy day in Los Angeles and he sat at the piano to begin our writing session.  

I looked out thru the big window, thrilled that finally a storm had come, and freely sang out the words, "How I Love the Rain' , followed by "It brings you back to me".  Kenny immediately began playing and a few hours later, the song was born.
