Our final release of the year comes from Dan Barrientos, returning to XtraTrax over a year on from his debut on XtraRadio, providing a track that couldn't be closer to the sound I've built for Xtra over the previous year. 

The deep rolling baseline, complimented by an abundance of hi-hats and percussions makes for an exceptional edit of this classic track from Kid Cudi.

Bringing in our final release of 2021, NoZzo resident Cosmin Horatiu makes his label debut as he delivers a sophisticated and groove-focused EP comprising two original jams and a remix from London's very own George Smeddles on 'Fly Tonight'.

Romanian talent Cosmin Horatiu has been stamping his style on the scene for some time now. Following releases on a slew of well-respected labels and recently having joined the NoZzo family, Cosmin makes his label debut with 'Fly Tonight'.

Opening with the title track, 'Fly Tonight' centres around an instantly catchy bassline and rolling rhythm. Subtle percs and fills add even more movement to the record, accentuated further by soulful vocal cuts and synth shots that bring a funky persona. Heavy on melody and feel-good energy, this one is a guaranteed vibe-builder.

Next up, renowned beatsmith George Smeddles takes the stage with his LDN Remix of 'Fly Tonight'. Featuring pleasant amounts of his signature bumpy flow from end to end - Smeddles' notorious UK Deep Tech blueprint sees the original track retain its funkiness but in a much more stripped-back and basement-geared sense.

Closing the release, 'Dig That' ramps up the pace whilst keeping things melodic and groovy. Blending classic Deep House vibes with uptempo Deep Tech punchiness, its bright and dreamy synths & pads bounce off a robust bed of beats and bass for a uniquely rich and enjoyable end result.

Venezuelan artist Marlon C makes a much-welcomed return to Black Seven Music for the second release of 2022, alongside rising UK talent Vito for a two-punch rolling Tech knockout - Without A Fight.

This isn’t Marlon C’s first Black Seven rodeo. After previously featuring on two separate releases in 2021, he returns alongside Birmingham based rising talent Vito (UK) as they deliver a delightful double track package to warm your winter dancing feet. 

Opening the release, the title track ‘Without A Fight’ boasts ample signature Black Seven Music flavours. Warm sub-bass adds even more rhythm to a robust bed of punchy kicks and crisp percussive layers - carving out an endlessly danceable groove. Subtle melodic factors glide throughout the track with a combination of long and sharp notes, also drawing tonal influence from the rich bed of percussion. The track is lightly dusted with vox chops and a sultry female vocal in places, wrapping up its potent body with a silky bow. 

‘About Time’ completes the release with upbeat energy and more hearty drum work. Heavyset kicks thump along from the off whilst another rich and rhythmic sub dives in and out. The ripple of scattered percussive elements creates seemingly limitless movement throughout the track’s journey as it advances through segments of hefty chorus grooves and tantalisingly harmonious bridges - leading to ‘hands up’ drops aplenty throughout.

Vito (UK), Marlon C - Without a Fight [Preview]

Shakti is a Midlands based DJ/producer who has been encapsulated within the industry from a young age with a huge passion for house music.

His DJ career thus far has spanned over 6 years playing at highly acclaimed, reputable events and festivals throughout the UK & abroad. 

He takes inspiration from the deeper rolling percussive sounds you may hear DJ’s such as Marco Carola playing. Shakti showcases his style and sound throughout high energy sets, with the occasional curveball, to ensure to keep the ravers engaged. He currently holds residencies with at Aftdark & Levels in Birmingham as well as his own events VITA & Junction 13 Festival.

He has more recently pursued the production side of music and has a string of releases confirmed. He spends much of his time on his craft to perfect and develop his sound.
