“Now it's finally time to uncover the first release of Artaphine Records. Here two worlds collide creating various shapes in between. On one hand we have Tom Place, who is more known for his breakbeat excursions on Childsplay and Fly By Night, while Clotur takes more of a dive into the deep and groovy style of techno that resulted in releases on Counterchange and his own label Warok.

Kicking off the EP with the solo track from Tom Place, setting off with the same pace as 'Tearing Down Your Walls', released on our VA last year. After that 'Melting Shapes' hits the perfect example of finding balance between artists with different production styles. With 'Object Model', the artists take the offbeat excursion while Clotur closes the EP with a 13-minute journey to the various corners of his production skills.”

Sumac presents Marakame, a 7 track album available in digital and vinyl formats including remixes by Siete Catorce and Cassius Select. "Marakame" or “mara'akame" means "who knows" or "who sees" in Huichol, an indigenous language of Mexico. Marakame also refers to shamans, who are considered intermediaries between the human and spiritual worlds. Working with these themes, places and histories, Viiaan has crafted a series of tracks exploring memory, grieving and ritual.

The Berlin-based label Nerang Recordings has been going strong since its founder - Australian DJ and producer Dj Whipr Snipr - launched it in 2016, with recent genre-spanning releases traversing acid, house, breaks, and electro from artists such as DJ Bowlcut, Low Tape, Soela, Subjoi, Interplanetary Criminal, J.Albert, DJ Safeword, Anthony Fade, and many more. Nerang now invites six quality artists for its most ambitious release yet to inaugurate the imprint’s ‘Freaky Friends’ series. E-Missions founder and Rekids regular P.Leone leads the way with a thudding breaks number called ‘Parting Currents’. A rumbling bassline is later joined by lush pads and a hammering piano melody destined to rocket listeners into new heights. Following appearances on 777 Recordings and Low Income Squad, Nasty King Kurl is next with a raw sounding ‘Lawless’ - a syncopated cut that blends acid and electro with Memphis rap and R&B.
