Taking us to Little W 12th Street NYC, the latest catalogue addition is a dedication to the legendary Cielo. From 2003-2018, Cielo was host to some of the best to ever do it, including Louie Vega's Roots NYC & Francois K's Deep Space both playing part in the club's consistent output for over a decade. During that time, Cielo became known for its intimate underground vibe, and uncompromising sound that made it a go to for DJs, Producers, Celebrities and punters with an ear for the next big house record on the circuit.

Cut to 2021 and Native New Yorker Ralph Session has created a worthy tribute to the NY nightspot. The deep, driving bassline, topped with melodic synth perfectly captures the Cielo vision. It'll evoke memories for those that were lucky enough to get into the club, whilst painting a vivid picture for those that weren't. Remixes from DJ Romain and Danny J Lewis serve up alternative peak time and late night sounds respectively, giving this EP the range to be spun anywhere.

New drop in Fluid Funk’s steady stream of groovy, feel good releases, Sven Wegner's lush “Night of Light EP” attests to the Hamburg producer’s successful U-turn from the classic house and techno formulas towards further sample-heavy wares and photovoltaic funk joints. The EP is scheduled for landing on October 29th.

Starting off with the dislocated jazz swing of its title-track, the EP lays down an instantly rousing, easy-to-love vibe throughout the room. “Night of Light” is a laid-back slice of jazz house, not quite picking a side between the effusive smoothness of its drum work and the many potentialities of its ruff taped sampling knocked askew. More of a functionally loop enhanced with Irish violin hoodoo and near-abstract processed samples, “Babette” makes for a much lovable bit of bucolic DJ functionality.

Dipping toes in a swelteringly sensual nightly ambience,“French Late Night” lets the bass talk. A chiseled mosaic of RnB vocal samples dressed with deadly piano stabs emerging like shiny knives out red velvet drapes, and there comes a seriously infectious night of alcove boogie. Doing just what's written on the tin, “Sunny Your Mind” teleports us to warm blankets of white sand with cocktails in our hands and little straw hats floating amidst the vivid gradation of its gently inebriating flavours. Cast off and enjoy.

Next up on Seasons Series is an upbeat 5-tracker from Berlin-based producer, Carlo, who offers an exuberant respite from the context of urban seclusion out of which it was imagined.

Since his debut release back in 2009, the Spanish born house connoisseur has well and truly mastered his craft: music that strikes the balance perfectly between the transportive, meditative potential of deep house and disco’s danceable groove. 

where is everybody? EP is the product of this discovery. Lilting deep house track ‘Sensitive Response’ sets the EP’s feel-good tone whilst the title track picks up the energy with undertones of disco and funk.

On ‘Earth Two’, Carlo teams up with Netherlands-based producer, Retromigration, to deliver a skippy sax-infused banger which lets you melt into its groove. Sampling a goodnight voicenote from his young son, ‘Noche’ sees the EP at its most contemplative, a meditation on the isolating impact of lockdown. Finally, the tech-house sensibilities of the EP’s closer ‘Moving Forward’ leaves things on a positive note with a meandering funk bassline and blissful vocals.
