Italian music-head @marco-dassi lands on @miurarecords for the second occasion, but this time for his debut EP. A selection of eclectic tunes, from breakbeat to Drum'n'Bass demonstrating an outstanding versatility for music production. Get ready for some heavy-weight tracks!

Words failed her; she was numb, unable to compute the conversation that was playing out before her. It had taken her by surprise. Had she had the wool pulled over her eyes for all this time? Had this been staring her in the face and she'd just chosen to ignore it? She felt blindsided, she hadn't seen it coming, there'd been no clues or giveaways. Right now, it felt impossible to imagine her life without him, the future was obscured...

For their next release Plaza Recordings welcome Gold Coast hailing producer Dj Whipr Snipr to the label. Previously the Mancunian label, run by duo Cortese, have made a home for releases from close pals including Absenol. and Sattama, as well as the pair's own productions. Championing UK G, breaks and early 90s electronic sounds, the label now call on the Nerang Recordings boss for a two-tracker of twinkling, laidback electro cuts full of lush pads, vocal samples and squelchy acid lines.

Sailor Moon Plot: 
The series follows the adventures of the titular protagonist whose civilian name is Usagi Tsukino (Serena in the English dub), a middle school student who is given the power to become the Pretty Soldier. Joined by other Sailor Soldiers, she defends Earth against an assortment of evil villains.

Melbourne-based @HousesinMotion are back with their fourth solo artist EP after taking a short break following their first ever various artists compilation release earlier this year. Sticking to their ethos of releasing music from local artists, this time they're looking to welcome a fellow Aussie in Adelaide-based @Subjoi, who has been making waves of his own lately. Coming off of his most recent and extremely well-received release on Canadian label Heart to Heart entitled Love Shy, he presents an equally strong showing with Flashing Lights EP for Houses in Motion.

Usually known for tougher, upbeat drums and catchy vocal samples, he doesn't stray far from his formula for success thus far on this release. Our premiere, however, and the B1 on the record, 'Glowworm' takes a bit of a different direction. The drums, although still rugged-sounding with Subjoi's usual lightly tinged lo-fi flare, seem a bit more subdued here. The galloping rhythm and warm chords make the track feel slower than it actually is as the tempo is still very much in club territory. The tasteful use of understated breath samples paired with delicate keys and bewitching electric guitar help make this production just as good for an afternoon of easy listening as it would be in an opening set, or perhaps at the end of one. Glowworm is the clear standout here for us and this is a direction we hope to see Subjoi pursue more in the future.

Losoul - Sunbeams and the Rain

Three producers, one desire: to create the most mellow and emotionally driven music with the tools they're given. 

The sweet spot of this track really is that for all its stripped back aesthetic, subdued it is not. We all know that sometimes less is more, but putting that into practice is a convergence of skill and care which is hard to appreciate, but even harder to replicate. This track ticks simply hits the sweet spot.

For all those 0 and 1 lovers, you'll be pleased to know this is getting a digital release. Cop habits from the 21st of this very month, you'll be treated for a sojourn through the Valby soundscape, there's no harm or pain there, only the best of times.
