'Formentera' is the opening track, bringing us back to a sunkissed morning on Ses Illetes with its downtempo groove and his beautiful and complex atmosphere. As the sun goes down, it's now time for 'Sumergidos' - a Deep House / Dub track with magical synth drops and dreaming vocal chops, driven by it's strong bassline.

Omar Santis makes his debut on Karakul with the four track EP ‘A T.D.L.D Joint’.

Karakul is a new label focusing on deeper House cuts from around the world. First up is Chilean born Stockholm dwelling Omar Santis.

Omar first came to our attention through his records on the Woodsmen & Lady Log label, the first of which was a split 12” with Niklas Andersson which he then followed up with his own EP titled simply ‘W&LL003’ a few months later. Two fantastic records featuring his low slung, immersive House production that caught Karakul’s ears immediately.

Omar tells us ‘A T.D.L.D Joint’ is an abbreviation of ‘Ta det lugnt daa’ meaning ‘Take it easy then yeah’ and on this 12” he certainly does, in the best possible way. It’s his most soulful record to date, building upon his detailed signature sound with perfectly placed vocals on ‘Stark Champagne’, melancholic Rhodes on ‘Lulu’s Jam’, tribal percussion and pads on ‘At The Shanzai Hotel’ and finally lowering the pace altogether for the emotional ender ‘Inward’.

Sam Irl is back with a new EP for his Jazz & Milk home base.
The EP title “Donau” refers to his growing up in rural Lower Bavaria as well as having lived in Vienna for almost two decades, both located on the Danube River.

All three tracks are based on a free-flowing vibe with an organic and unique sound signature. Using minimalistic, but well-crafted song structures, analogue synth lines and sampled drum chops, his deep rhythms & grooves are always purposeful, yet loose and definitely rolling in their own time.

Besides making music Sam Irl has been busy working in his Viennese studio as a mixing and mastering engineer for a wide range of underground and independent artists.

This month we got two brand new Tigerskin tunes for you. "Our Love Is Still Alive" combines a classic and soulful Tigerskin groove with his more recent, less electronic styles. Here, a filtered, mellow guitar loop and sharp rimshot is pushing the dancer forward. "Walk the Lizard" plays heavily with the Caribbean influence already shown on the last Tigerskin releases. Various acoustic and electric instruments are coming together to form a joyful and uplifting club atmosphere for positive people. Oh Yeah!

For its fifth anniversary, Deeppa Records presents a two-part various artists compilation exploring the theme of duality. The first part kicks off with Jehan's 'Casino Aquatique' which is a breezy and warm deep house jam with smooth vocals radiating soul. Scruscru then brings more funky drums and expressive disco melodies, and Shaka's 'That Spot Under The Sun' is pure Mediterranean vibes. On the flip comes more blissfulness from I Gemin, a starry-eyed and melodic wonder from Laroye's Cosmic Disco mix and Sunes' late-night and romantic groove, 'Don Fetti.' Six tasteful sounds that ooze class.
