The Munich based duo Coeo are the stars of our fourteenth release. Florian Vietz and Andreas Hopfl have presented us with three original tracks with nice and special character. Closer EP is definitely a landmark release for us at Lagaffe Tales which challenges us to follow up with this new standard in the following future. The title track Closer is the star of the release. What stands out if the great percussion work and hauntingly beautiful vocal sample, whispering into our ears. As if the original track was not enough, we were lucky to get one of our biggest influences; Lay-Far to remix the track. The remix takes the percussion work to the next level and still staying true to the original mix. Lay-Far does not disappoint and makes sure that we connect memories we hold dear to the track. Mind Games is a beautiful piece with a tight baseline and enchanting piano atmosphere.  The duo bring to the table another beautiful piano sampling piece in the third track Timid Dancer. The whole EP has encouraged us to work harder and to grow in the right direction as a label.

Who better to kick off the inaugural release of SOBO [Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest] than Patrick Holland, best known as Project Pablo. Affiliated with the Canadian Riviera's 1080p troupe, as well as Seb Wildblood's Church and Lone's Magicwire – Holland now adds Beaubien Dream as the fourth instalment to his 12" series. The Beaubien connection comes from Montreal's Rue Beaubien, of which Holland is a resident. SOBO is headed up by fellow longstanding citizens of the Beaubien Ouest hood, Arbutus Records and their extended family – of which Holland is an instrumental part.

An initial teaser of the EP's opening "Closer" was aired publicly during Holland's BR London set back in October, as well as his NTS appearance with Lone and Gabriola earlier this year. Now, after a patient seven-month wait, we can finally wrap our mitts around it in its entirety. Alongside its two subsequent components, the track acts as a homage to Holland's home. With its distinctive Dx7 melodies, jingly percussion provided by bells (of the cow variety amongst others) and an insatiable groove growing lazily throughout – "Closer" is instantaneous happiness.

Loure is 22 year old, Melbourne based producer Thomas Guida. Deriving influence from a vast range of musical outfits, he delivers a refreshing take on his interpretation of Deep House. With the qualities of heavy flowing beats accompanied by smooth melodies and intricate brass, Loure takes inspiration from the forever progressive Melbourne music scene, delivering a unique mix of remarkably original and touching music. "Westside Movements" was written, produced and recorded on the inner skirts of Melbourne’s western suburbs. Gaining heavy influence from ongoing cultural movements currently gracing the streets of Footscray, the surrounding abandoned warehouses and the banks of the Maribyrnong River, this record is an Ode to the West and the joy, unity, and enlightenment it has and continues to provide to myself and all of those who choose to embrace its hidden beauties. Here is A2 "Keep it real" a wonderful deep-house cut for those lazy afternoons on the Atlantic shores, enjoy & breathe !
