Lyon, France’s LB aka LABAT inaugurates his new imprint Poumpet Records this February with its first single, ‘Feel The Beat’, backed by a remix from Australia’s partiboi69.

Over the past seven years Strasbourg-born now Lyon-based, DJ, Producer and Live Act LB aka LABAT has been soul drenched, dusty House, Techno, Electro and Downtempo grooves via the likes of Wolf Music, Steel City Dance Discs, Groovedge Records and course his own Alélah Records run alongside Polow with a focus on cassette and vinyl releases. Here though we see LB aka LABAT open a new chapter in his career with the launch of his new imprint Poumpet Records which will be dropping a single every month throughout 2022 alongside remixes from some kindred spirits along the way.

To set the tone of Poumpet Records, LABAT launches with debut single ‘Feel The Beat’, a dynamic rave-tinged groove fuelled by hip-house vocal chants, crunchy, organic drums and an amalgamation of jazzy keys, wandering strings and airy atmospherics throughout its near eight-minute duration.

Mutual Pleasure and Unprotected Records artist partiboi69 also steps in on remix duties to kick things off, upping the energy levels even more with a robust, broken rhythm and snaking arpeggio bass hooks ebbing and flowing amongst fragments of the original’s vocal lines and ethereal pads.

HannahLuyah is known for igniting any dance floor with her bass-focused alternative sound. She weaves through dreamy melodies and wompy electronic glitches, tailoring her sets live to the energy of the crowd. She draws inspiration from many genres, including electro, breakbeat, techno, indie-dance, house and hip hop. 

Originally from New York USA, she is currently based in Barcelona, where she co-runs funky-music collective, Funk It!, as well as does creative direction for other events in the underground electronic music scene. She has DJ'd in Spain, the U.S.A., the U.K., and Japan.
