@pastpalms  is a New York-based producer creating lush music to water your plants to. The music aims to encapsulate the feeling of surrounding yourself with an oasis of tropical houseplants while living in a grey, nature-less
city.

The producer is preparing to release their third EP entitled 'Empyrean', which features a more Eastern-inflected sound palette. Inspired by the scores of Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, 'Empyrean' is a lush soundscape blooming with cascading harps, rainforest field recordings, ethereal strings, and warped vocal samples. The first single, 'Tropics', is premiering now ahead of the EP’s full release on April 30th

On 'Tropics', Past Palms says: "My vision for Past Palms has always been to encapsulate the feeling of bringing nature indoors while living in a nature-less place. With COVID-19 and lockdowns, I’ve found it more personally resonant than ever to bring plants indoors to nurture my innate connection to nature. As I hunkered down in my Brooklyn apartment this past year, I aspired to write music that felt like I was actually in the rainforest. I started ‘Tropics’ with a bed of jungle field recordings, cascading harp samples, and botanical textures. But I also felt the need to capture the environment I was actually in, so I included city elements like uptempo house beats and deep bass waves. It was important to me to keep that juxtaposition present between natural and unnatural elements."

ARMSITICE & GODDARD debut EP ‘Connected’ is finally here:

The release will be the a two track EP on Culture Records, release date April 14th.

With producers ARMISTICE & GODDARD working hard in the studio these previous months, it is no surprise that they have material on standby which their itching to showcase.

Both producers met through studying at Music School SSR London. Their passion for live and electronic music is evident in their debut EP.

Their music represents both ends of the spectrum musically, with live aspects and electronic elements which create a cohesive cocktail of original material.

Both artists bring separate attributes to the table with ARMISTICE coming from a live music background and GODDARD Electronic. 

GODDARD: “The route that myself and Ross have taken over the past months has been brilliant, every time we stepped into that studio we always come out buzzing and excited to share what we've created. To have both live and electronic elements in our music is very exciting. The hunger we have for success is what drives us both, we have been working so hard for both ‘Culture’ and ourselves as artists, only the future will tell the tale of whats to come’’.

ARMISTICE: “What we’re doing is so refreshing for me. To have no boundaries in the studio and literally follow wherever the music takes us is great. We both have such a drive to do something special with our music, but even better, a drive to do something different. This debut EP marks the start for us and our collaboration as artists. We’re both really excited for the next year!”
	Their Debut EP ‘Connected’ is certainly breaking boundaries of generic club music, what’s next for Armistice & Goddard?

Being hidden away in the studio over the past six months, these two have been hard at work building up their library of material ready to showcase. We can safely say that we are very intrigued to see what it is they've been cooking up.

The first instalment of a brand new 2 track EP - due out in its entirety this April - sees LEGATO meld incisive, swing-infused percussion; gentle, soporific keys; and ghostly vocals - that swoop and fade throughout - to craft this ultra-elegant and entrancing new record; one that doubles-up nicely as a bold, 2021 opening gambit from EMR.

On the EP, LEGATO explains: “I wanted it to reflect a lucid dream, I played around with a bunch of hazy, ethereal sounds both synthetic and from the real world, paying super close attention to texture, mood, arrangement and dynamics – really loved putting this one together.”
