We're very excited to announce our first international release and welcome Static Structure to the family! Based in Brisbane, the music producer is originally from Glasgow where he became involved in the early Hip-Hop, Dub, Hardcore and Jungle scenes in the first part of
the 90's. These bass-heavy broken beats laid the foundations for a lifetime obsession with music and soundsystem culture. Their influences resonate through his unique production style to this day.

Static Structures goes all out with Duck & Cover EP, discharging four weapons designed to tear up dancefloors around the globe. Catalogued as ND007, this release showcases his versatility in the 160 range, bringing heavyweight basslines, frenzied breaks, dreamy pads, rave stabs and chopped-up vocals of varying flavours. An EP that reflects his passion for music and contemporary approach to the Hardcore / Jungle sound.

Annie Marron is the freshest resident to join the Ape-X family. After spending the last few years forming her sound across Leeds & Manchester, the Newcastle-born rising star settles back into her hometown. Over on Instagram we put together a short interview with her discussing female participation in the industry, growing from a bedroom DJ into a full-time club resident and obviously lots of music chatter. 

With a USB full of fresh edits, UK breaks, ravey-electro, & a dose of ghetto techno, Annie has impressed us by capturing raw crowd energy. Hailing from the Coast, the 23-year-old has already landed on some serious line-ups across the UK with the likes of Josey Rebelle, Saoirse and Frazer Ray. 

Annie is one of the DJs leading the charge for female artists in the North, so keep an eye out for her at our parties over 2021/22. We invited her to serve up a 1-hour mix for you as our 14th APECAST guest.

Bodhi are Luke Welsby and Olly Howells, two Cardiff locals who grew up with the underground music scene of the city and met in its clubs. The duo have a host of hit edits and releases under their belts, have run a club night in their home city, and are back with five killer tracks for their first full-length EP this year.

Rounds EP is a constantly moving sidewinder of a release, holding back nothing as it hits you with one punchy track after another. Opener ‘SQU’ is a meaty kickdrum heavy club roller that hardly gives room to breathe, making the more sparse title track feel delicate in comparison. The darker elements still shine through with a harsh beat and high-octane pads. ‘Drop One’ is a real heady number with an extreme drop certain to set a dancefloor wild. Bodhi’s production skills are gorgeously presented in the sound design of ‘Solaris’, all atmospheric chords, field recordings and frenetic breaks. The breakbeats are forefronted for closing track, ‘Junction 93’, which explores drum’n’bass sound palettes more deeply complete with an ominous sub bass which growls across the explosive rhythm.
