Milan's The Robinson make their debut on Monologues Records following truly sumptuous outings on the likes of Futureboogie Records (where they received a remix from the legend Ron Trent) and Rye Records. Pushing a sound that taps into the vein of classic deep US house, from Glenn Underground to Body & Soul, their sophisticated productions encompasses beautiful synth work and excellent attention to groove and rhythm.

'Mondo' is a melancholy stunner where soaring pads give a subtle edge of ecstasy, 'Electric City' is a chugging, synth-heavy atmospheric workout in the Joe Claussel vein, and 'Acid Square' is pure deepness with beautiful melodies and layers of organic percussion. Monologues mainstays Manakinz bring a heady Glasgow touch to their remix of 'Acid Square', building things to a tripped-out, spacey climax.

A jazz track that is heavily under the influence of psilocybin. There is no element of the track left unadulterated by the psychedelic juices flowing through this floor-filler. Driving and full of energy its hard to escape the infectious rhythm. A phat bass pops and distorts, a ghostly flute echoes and a rhythm section so complex it feels like a fever dream of snares, hi-hats and claps, pulled to your present consciousness.  This driving house track compiles elements of garage, jazz and an altered state of consiousness.

During a release party at the Rex club in Paris organized by the Pont Neuf label in 2019, Trax magazine presented the Dub Strikers as “the young tenors of French house” to the artists; Ethyène, Tour-Maubourg, Madcat, Vitess, Chevals, KX9000, Yann Polewka and Deborah Aime La Bagarre.

To their credit, several “various artists” have been signed on the labels: La Chinerie, Imported, 124 recordings, Grand Cru Paris, STRCTR, and Madhouse, the label of Kerri Chandler.

The Dub Striker kicks off 2020 with two major events; on the one hand the vinyl release on the Happiness Therapy label (a Lyon label that never ceases to be talked about as much for its evenings as its vinyl releases), on the other hand the launch of their own label « don’t Need A Million ”with Davelly.
