For someone who wasn't born there, Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann might be the most Detroit guy to ever exist.  Moving to the motor city from LA at only three weeks old, he has never "truly" left since. His music channels the musical legacy of Black Detroit – transplanted Delta blues, gospel, Motown and Fortune, Stevie Wonder, the Electrifying Mojo and the Belleville Three – with an unassailable verve. His dust-spackled opus "Silentintroduction" has hummed continously in the background of house music since its release in 1997, inspiring generations of producers.

DJ Houseplants is an American-Cambodian DJ, producer and fly fisherman from the forests of the Pacific Northwest, currently based in NY. Rooted in his Khmer identity and passion for Mother Earth, he draws inspiration from nature and the warm soulful sounds of house generations before him. While his style strikes a unique balance of lush instrumentals and hypnotic bounce, he invites everyone on the dance floor to explore music equally through an introspective lens.

Studio Barnhus Essential Mix 2020

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
