With productions remixed by artists like Danny Tenaglia, Dj W!ld, Chris Carrier, Fabio Monesi, etc., he shared the stage with international DJs such as Tiefschwarz, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Cassy, Tini, Karotte, Sis, Phil Weeks, Stacey Pullen, Italoboyz, and many more.

'Train Love' stands out for its powerful bass drum sounds led by the iconic TR-808. It’s clearly a tribute to the NYC old-school hip hop and house. This track captures the essence of the city, the 70s/80s hip-house scene at the very early stage.

London producer Third Son is not one for half measures, throwing all of his passion and skill into his music from day one. Since EPs on Accidental and 17 Steps, Third Son has released his debut and follow-up albums throughout successive coronavirus lockdowns and now joins Shall Not Fade for a six-tracker that pulls no punches.

Your Face As Art is British techno at the top of its game, right from the title track’s understated build up into a big-room climax. ‘Descartes Before The Horse’ keeps the momentum, a driving peaktime minimal workout with a spongiform bassline, carrying us through into the glistening soulfulness and ear-tickling sound design of ‘Don’t Be Self Conscious’. Cocteau Twins style dreamy vocals meet the dancefloor in ‘Don’t Go Quietly’, while ‘Lesson in Stoicism’ is a syncopated percussive beat down. ‘Pygmalion Effect’ closes out the EP, a piece of ritualistic body music awash with glassy synth stabs.

‘Vaugahyde’, taken from Elninodiablo's recently released ‘Body Electric EP’, sees thorough rework treatment from John Tejada, Emperor Machine, Aurum Miles, Theus Mago and Matisa. John Tejada brings frenzied electronic signals, perfectly programmed drums, and ruptured sine wave rapids to form a kaleidoscope of flickering shapes and motifs for his interpretation of the original. In the hands of Aurum Miles, ‘Vaugahyde’ morphs into pure EBM/New Beat as distorted arpeggios entangle with eerily cold vocals. Matisa reels out a proper chugging, feel-good belter, combining elements of hi-NRG alongside soulful vox stabs and Roulé-esque filter actions. Theus Mago's refix opts for a more progressive yet unpredictable approach, taking ‘Vaugahyde’ into oddball techno territories with piano stabs and crisp clicks, bleeps and cracks. Last but not least, the Emperor Machine combines early computer-era P-funk grooviness and micro-house experimentalism for an otherworldly remix.

Across the nine-track ‘Relief’ LP Achim Maerz displays the depth of influences in his music, from the cinematic electronica contributions like opener ‘Gondolier’, ‘Dream’ and ‘Memories’ through to more classic deep, dubby techno style cuts like ‘Black Hole’, ‘Changing Weather’, ‘Open Sky and ‘On The Way’.

Maerz also explores more experimental aesthetics via the intricately syncopated rhythms and dynamic synth work on tracks like title-cut ‘Relief’ and closing composition ‘Odysee’.
