Coming in hella strong, Bristol-based producer/DJ @longeez takes the bass-baton and supplies us with two outrageous club heaters for ec2a-35. With this release, he is sure to retain such a rep as he dives straight in with wob-heavy ‘Hol’ Tight’ held together by jumpy melodic synth sounds, shifting vocal samples and some deep-seated whirs. ‘Keep Movin’ does what it says on the tin and is reminiscent of UKG pioneer ‘El-B’ with a 2-steppy twist alongside an eerie backdrop - old school vibe with new school tactics.

All proceeds go towards Legacy Youth Zone, Croydon. The youth club provides a safe space and opportunities for young people in the area. Legacy's council funding is about to be cut so any donations are crucial.

Welcoming Arfa to the Time Is Now family with his debut EP: a tight 5-tracker which sees the emerging producer come into his powers with a fiercely forward-facing take on dark garage, featuring a raucous remix from London’s Bakey.
 
Real Badman EP starts as it means to go on. ‘Run It Back’ is driven by a fractured syncopated rhythm and a heavy warped bassline which lends it its tune, fusing together the stylistic elements of dark garage and speed garage to offer a fresh take on both genres. Clattering rimshots and a womping bassline compliment ‘For The Mandem’’s luscious pads before being carried onto ‘Ain’t Ready’ which adds a tight two-step rhythm and the chopped-up vocals of an old skool garage MC. Finally, ‘Real Badman’ sees the EP at its most playful. Staccato piano chords infuse it with an uplifting melody before Time Is Now family member Bakey steps in to deliver his take: a half-time rendition which strips back the higher ends to make way for a focus on the subs. A real stomper.

The bass driven, dark and impactful sound of ‘Basilica Blueprints’ is the debut and defining release for the label, throwing them into the forefront of the Bass music and ‘130’ genre. Leading the tape are heavyweight bass and dubstep heads 9TRANE and Unkey who flourished in the reprise of the ever growing genre of Bass/130 music. Alongside them, Manchester's newest dominating bass music producer Monir adds in both dark and dangerous dance floor killers in ‘Over’ as well as an ethereal and cinematic combination of textures and drones in ‘The Conflict’.

BSC001 showcases the underground music sounds of Bristol, Manchester, London and more. Compiled by Basilica’s label boss Eyeza,  these artists have been selected for the tape as both the finest newcomers and revered veterans combined.
Basilica as a label has already had its previous successes. One of which being the ‘Basilica Mix Series’ which, for the past 3 years, has showcased some of the leading heads in UK Bass music such as KRSLD, Diessa, 9TRANE and many more. Another is the ‘Bricks of Basilica Show’ on Bristol's largest underground music radio station 1020 Radio. The show has hosted guests such as fellow label header Eich from More Cowbell as well as Korzi, Grove and many others. 
Named justly as the plans and foundations of Basilica, ‘Basilica Blueprints’ displays the plans of what Basilica will build into as a label. The architecture of this Bass music temple is long, dark and heavy.
