In Chinese and other East and Southeast Asian societies, a red packet (紅包) is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions such as the lunar new year, weddings, or birthdays. 

This mix was carefully constructed to represent the trajectory and flow of what you might expect from a moody warm-up set, with the idea of creating an atmosphere. The sound is inspired by time spent on the dance-floors of clubs such as fabric and FOLD, where a policy of darker, more experimental sounds is welcomed and encouraged. 

The focus of this mix was to strike a balance between flow and track selection - with the idea that every transition should sit perfectly in place without disrupting the groove. 

2 hours spanning minimal, 90s tech house, techno and electro.

Jovella is a femme and queer identifying San Diego based DJ, a small but mighty force to be reckoned with. She pulls inspiration and practices self expression through music, event curation, fashion, advocacy, and other creative mediums. 

Jovella is the Founder and Creative Visionary of Sisiety @sisiety, an organization intended to showcase underrepresented artists such as women and LGBTQ+ folks and curate inclusive experiences that embrace creativity and empower community. She has had the pleasure of playing at Sisiety experiences, other events and festivals around SoCal including lineups from The Afternoon Umbrella Friends, Connect San Diego, Iluvincognito, Veluda SD, San Diego Pride, and more. 

In this journey from 124 to 174 BPM, she shares a softer side of their electronic music library. Featuring an assortment of blissful breaks, UKG, dreamy DnB, and more, this mix is a collection of sounds that speak to the soul.
