Biography

Shamiah Shante Grant aka MIAH is a multi-talented artists to watch out for. 
Shamiah was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. From a young age her talents began to shine through and at the age of 5, she began singing in the Bethany Baptist Church Choir. This lit the fire that would lead to Shamiah to become a serious threat in the entertainment business. Taking up singing, song writing, acting, dancing, and playing instruments. Shamiah draws inspiration from relatives Cab Calloway and Ethel Waters, learning from their experiences and the power they held through their talent. Daily pushing her to strive for her own fame.

A graduate of Malcolm X Shabazz Highschool, it is here that Shamiah joined the marching band, allowing her exceptional opportunities such as performing for President Clinton. A highlight for this young star, as well as Mya, LL Cool J, and the Nets Basketball Team.

After completing her education, it was time to step out on a limb and put her voice out there. So in 2008, Shamiah auditioned for American Idol. It was here that Shamiah was approached by Vice President Tone Capone, from Universal Records. Tone showed and interest in Shamiah, urging her to contact him at Universal. 

Since that time Shamiah has been reaching out to the public and building up an international fan base. Performing at places such as Village Underground (NYC), Jordans Night Club (Jersey City NJ), Club CIC (East Orange NJ) and several locations in Las Vegas. And she doesn’t stop there, involving herself in productions of Cinderella, as played by Whitney Houston and Brandy, as well as The Lion King and Anna and the King. Playing lead roles in all productions. 

Shamiah currently has her single “Never Leave You”, mastered by Grammy award winning producer Curtis Key, available at all major online retailers across the world as well as on internet and college radio. You can check out her video on YouTube. 

Shamiah is working hard on her first full album and quickly moving towards achieving her dream of becoming a well known R&B Artist. Shamiah has recently teamed up with the song writing duo The Frontrunnaz and producers The Mekanics to work on her up coming project. The first collaboration is "Fallen Angel" written by The Frontrunnaz and produced by The Mekanics... and A&R by Mike Hernandez.

With strong, smooth vocals, and a unique and genuine quality, Shamiah will inspire a new generation of R&B lovers around the world.
