Blood Groove & Kikis return to our parent label with "Free Like A Bird," the triumphant first single from their forthcoming "Wonderland" artist album. Hosts of our Silk Textures radio show, representing our deep house division of the same name, the sensational Latvian duo have proven themselves equally adept at writing peak-hour trance and progressive material over the years. Just recently, Armin van Buuren supported their remix of 19 Hz's "Another Skin" during his "A State of Trance #650" Tour, and they have also been featured on Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" on various occasions in recent months. Their latest single also features the gorgeous vocals of Victoria Ray, a first-time contributor to our imprint.

In the early going, a steady bassline groove provides firm footing for a poignant piano theme and a variety of uplifting pads. It doesn't take long for a mellifluous soundscape to set the stage for the introduction of Victoria Ray's ethereal lead hook: "I'm like a free bird, flying over the sky." Her stunning voice is given the full spotlight in the breakdown, along with the many melodic layers and themes, which only strengthen the atmospheric quality of Victoria's voice. The drop to follow offers a truly euphoric catharsis for the listener.

A label owner of Otographic Music, Kenji Sekiguchi has been introducing quality sounds of Japanese artists to the scene as a DJ and an A&R for about a decade. In early years he has also produced his own tracks, but paused it for a long time. Now he is back as an artist with this single "Into The Dawn".

Original Mix is a progressive house with haunting melodies and atmospheric synth textures. On the other hand, Club Mix is a trancy rebuild of the original version composed of driving basslines and multi-layered plucks.

Sound Quelle, the versatile and exceedingly gifted Russian veteran, returns to our label for the second time in 2018 with the elegant 6-track EP "Ethereal." After the tremendous success of his "Shoreline" EP earlier this year, we are graced with six mesmerizing new cuts, which explore various shades of deep & progressive house.

The opening track of the EP, fittingly entitled "Ethereal," features the ravishing vocals of Canadian vocalist Brandon Mignacca. Extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world, "Ethereal" begins with an extended, beat-less intro, centering on airy vocals and delicate melodies, evoking pleasantries to all. Warm-hearted melodies and an infectious groove take hold a few minutes in; later on, Brandon's honeyed vocal takes on a more acutely emotive quality, as he passionately delivers the titular refrain. This is an extraordinary cut from two criminally underrated musicians.

The future is now with "Orlaz," a futuristic deep tune that centers on a beautiful and awe-inspiring liquid-y groove. As the track progresses, the listener experiences myriad out-of-body moments, induced by a variety of calm and enchanting melodic motifs and a mini drop that suits the chilled, sensual mood perfectly. 

The ebullient "LoMe" has a distinctly "happy disco" feel, thanks to waves of euphoric melodies and a hypnotic vocal sample, which gives the song its intriguing name. A distinctively 80s-influenced rhythm section and a soft-spoken vocal hook ("plug me in") help launch the listener into a hypnotic frenzy. Sound Quelle continues to pour on the retro hooks, not the least of which is a delicious guitar theme in the song's latter half. 

Back to the deep we go with "Angelos & Daemones," which serves up a groove that induces immediate head-bobbing and foot tapping. At the quarter turn, the listener is met with echoes of the hauntingly beautiful vocal solo, which is soon to follow. Finally, in the drop section, the listener feels compelled to grab a loved one and head straight to the dance floor, courtesy of a series of climactic flourishes.

Sound Quelle's marvelous "Chanunpa" welcomes you to a lush jungle of deep house euphoria. With a powerful summertime groove that begins with the sound of beautiful birds and elegant bongo drums, "Chanunpa" is the perfect soundtrack for beginning one's day. The most tropical flavor of the whole EP, "Chanunpa" offers infections vocal hooks, slide whistles, and beach-flavored atmospheric delights that create an all-around blissful vibe. 

Sound Quelle's magnificent closing tune, "Resa," completes the aural voyage of the "Ethereal" EP. A cavernous bassline is periodically punctuated by a laser like sound effect, as well as a variety of other captivating deep touches, including a mystical female vocal hook, which hovers in the background. A groovy series of male vocal stabs appears in the second half of the track, leading to a transcendent finish that leaves the listener spiritually fulfilled from his odyssey across the universe (and back again).

LEDO - HUNDRED DAYS [REMIXED] (INCL. JEEF B, MARK & LUKAS REMIXES)
This week we take a step back in time, as we bring back an original that was held originally on the label back in August last year. For those of you, remembering the EP from back then, created by the Poland based producer Ledo and his beautiful production named as “Hundred Days”. Back then, he got a lot of support on this EP, both through legal buys and by top notch name producers and DJ’s. In that we also count in a double support from world leading Above & Beyond and their weekly Group Therapy showcase.

This original melodic gem now see 2 brand new remixes giving it a rub to spice new life to the melodic hooks involved in the track. First out is Moroccan based producer Jeef B who we see back on the label. With a string of creations, he once more proves through this take, that he is one to count on with his dreamy and catchy style of progressive music. With a great blend of deeper structures and still keeping the melodic vibe, he sure is to keep your attention with this one. 

We also see Mark & Lukas returning to the label with a new rendition of “Hundred Days”. It’s always a pleasure having them back on the label, as we always know their music oozes brilliance, warm melodic textures and energy that we surely can’t get enough of. Be prepared for a classic melodic journey from the boys, we are thankful to have it available for you all.

Another giant is back on the label as we this week have the pleasure to bring back the Italy based producer that goes by the alias of Richard Bass. He’s been a stellar figure on the melodic progressive scene over the years and we are truly happy to see him join back with us yet again with his latest baby named as “Armonica”. If sunny skies, palm trees and an overall summer feel is your thing, then he will send you places with this melody driven progressive production from start to finish. It’s as good as it gets and we hope you will take another Richard Bass production to your heart, it totally deserves it.

To spice things even more, you will see a mighty return form one of the finest progressive producers based Japan as our long time friend on the label, Ryo Nakamura makes another stunning return to our PHW imprint with his interpretation of “Armonica”. Being a producer, having No:1 spots on Beatport and with a string of supporters across the globe, we of course welcome him back with open arms with this beauty. As you all know by now if following Ryo and his work, you know you will be in for a treat with this marvellous number of melody driven progressive act. Let’s the melodies take you away on a fantastic journey, so made for the summer season. It’s another bliss from you Ryo, no doubts on that! 

Last but definitely not least we see another return on the label as Lyon and France bound Meranda makes another interesting walk through our doors. With his creative mind, hearing things that others don’t do, we think he is taking the track in a different direction with added on melodic hooks, a slightly more energetic style overall and with super cool tweaks making this to something of his own. It’s a full on progressive journey, packed with emotions and energetic vibes. We absolutely love everything about this release and we hope you get the good feeling yourself.
