When you first play Robert’s music not only do you hear it but see it. Big Cities at the dead of night, not a soul around, just neon and streetlights. An enchanted forest where mythical creatures live. Robert creates music that hits all your senses with its harmonic vocals, brooding, undulating baselines and pulsating drumbeats.
But how does he do it? How does he take instruments’ and musical styles that usually don’t play together and make them work?
Robert began listening to music in the mid 80’s, but it really took a hold in the 90’s when Rap, Trip Hop, Grunge and Electronic music all came into their own, and Robert drank them all in. Having started his musical career playing drums in local bands in the West Midlands, Robert packed up and moved to North London for a life behind the mixing desk. There he has worked on his own unique sound, an “ellisonsound”.
So take a trip to the dark side with him... “are you ready” for it?
