Lift

As a composer and songwriter who grew up in Butte County, California (specifically Durham), 
I am deeply moved by the Paradise Camp Fire. 
Though not directly affected, 
I have close friends and many acquaintances that lost their homes. 
Hearing them share their stories and seeing photos of the destruction
has driven home two distinct things about life. 

First, most of us become emotionally attached
to the things we own. 
Our culture promotes it.
Second, those physical things can be taken away in a heartbeat, 
leaving us with what matters -- 
our lives, our families, and our core beliefs.

This realization inspired me to write a song called 
You Are My Home.  
It’s meant for everyone affected by the Camp Fire. 
I’m making a video to go with the song and would like to showcase photos from the fire. 
If you have photos of the fire, the evacuation, the aftermath, anything that tells a part of the story of the 
Paradise Camp Fire, please consider sharing them with me to be included in the coming video. 

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this tragic event.
