Hi, 
I love how music can tell a story and how it can move you. We all have THAT one song that’s touched us over time, well, I hope that one day, I can write THAT one  song for you! 
My song - Why didn’t they call was written for my mum. She raised 9 kids, lost one tragically aged 14, which i also have written a song about called Sometimes. Mum survived Domestic violence, as we all did, Sometimes is her story, even though we all lived it, years after we kicked the old man out, she told me how she was so terrified, with no where to go, she hid for days in the rooftop!! for crying out loud,,how cruel is that? 
Another song, Turn back the hands of time, is written about a sister, I have 5, parts of the song, could be about any of them really, they have all had their share of aresholes, anyway Drugs and Alcohol, not a great combination, compounded by her own domestic abuse, to the extent of being bashed unconscious one too many times, leaving her in a Coma and her children taken from her. 
I wrote Where are you now, as a gift to a friend. It shares her story of adoption, and the heartache of trying to find the mother of her adopted daughter, in Ethiopia, who she found out was very sick. 
Pennies for the meter, came about after a Anzac day morning at school. I was picking up my son, talking to one of the mums, Tara Mac, who proceeded to tell me how when her mum was a little wee girl in London during WWii, their father plumbed the gas into the basement, with explicit instructions on how, if the enemy made it into their city, they would go into the basement, drop the Pennies in the meter, well, you can guess the rest!! WoW is all could say, I went home, picked up my guitar, and that song just flowed, like the bombs did at that time!  I recorded it on my phone, called Tara and asked if she’d like to hear what I’d written from her story, she did, she loved it, very emotionally said she played it to her mum, who cried!
