I could say this is a Rodeo song about a cowboy that leaves for too long and looses his family... However, who wants to hear that old dragged out story... 

This song is for every dad that has had to leave his children for one reason or another... The dad wants the children to understand that even though he is not present he still loves the children more than anything else in life. And, that he does not resent the mother for the situation life just happens, its not anyone's fault...
