He'll most likely tell you he's a Roots Rocker, but Shane Wilson's first Americana branding was in 1996 while on England's Zane Records. That was a long time ago for this Alabama Musician and Songwriter. 

Most recently, Shane put his lifelong music career in the back seat for health and family reasons. Let's just say he's quite happy and living in the DC area with the future Mrs. Shane Wilson. While it is exciting, the new locale means no band, no musical entourage and nothing to dispute the claims that he is "starting all over." Afterall, DC is not structured, musically, like Nashville or many other cities that were, until recently, mere hours away.
Whether starting from scratch or not, Shane brings with him a treasure chest of experiences, having long paid his musical dues in Nashville TN, Muscle Shoals AL, Atlanta and Athens GA, Memphis TN - throughout the musically rich heritage of the Southeastern U.S. 

As a solo acoustic act, he delivers a sudden storm of sound, soul, story and song. If you're a listener - really trying to hear -
you'll find each of these powerful elements at play every time he takes a stage. Not to mention, Shane's also quite capable of wrecking the room in laughter, usually at his own expense! 
Although he swore off the title of "singer-songwriter" just the other day because "everyone in the world is a "singer-songwriter," Shane personifies that very mantra. He's a piano-pounding, guitar growling, big-voiced Southern storyteller, and everyone can relate to his experiences in some way. 
Authentic, genuine, honest... the "real deal" and then some. If you can get out and hear him.... if you can catch even two songs... grab a cab, jump the Metro, hit the freeway - you'll be glad you did. See what you see, hear what you hear. But please make up your own mind - the world has enough sheep.
