Fremantle singer/songwriter Shannon Smith is a born and bred musician, raised within a musical family amidst an atmosphere of creativity and live performance.

As such those ‘70s sensibilities are in the blood and bones of this multi-instrumentalist's songs, which evoke the soulful climes of inspirational artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, The Beatles and 10cc, complemented by his deep love of Americana and alt-country music.

Live horns, warm organ, electric piano and a funk-driven rhythm section bring that retro 70s energy, while the lyrics lean into a simple message: the answers we’re chasing are already inside us.

I wrote this after watching so many people medicate their stress with anything they could grab. This track is the reminder I needed — breathe, move, get outside, reconnect, find joy.
