Since forming in 2012,Jamaican Ska/Reggae/Rocksteady outfit Shanty Town have been
charming, captivating and otherwise infecting Melbourne audiences with their liberal
dollops of off-beat goodness. Sporting a stage-squishing 9-piece line-up which includes 3
horns, the band combine irresistibly danceable beats with the luscious, gorgeous and
versatile vocal abilities of Jessy Turner and Mpaphi Nfandizo. Shanty Town’s influences
span a wide array of artists, and their sets combine faithful renditions and surprising twists
on classic repertoire. The result is authentic, earthy and highly contagious delivery of fun.
