SCICHEDEL (Pronounced “saiquedel”)

It is the conceptual blend of science fiction and psychedelia. It’s a space opera in musical form, composed with a personal technique that Von Krup named as “hyper-recycling".

This idea stems from a phenomenon that often overwhelms producers: having thousands of 8-bar beats that seem to go nowhere. We create one after another, gradually abandoning them. In his opinion, forcing these 8-bar beats into a 6-minute track is the perfect formula for boring tracks—3-minute intros followed by predictable drops, with or without hi-hat/kick.

To break this pattern, he decided to let these beats follow their own creative path. Whether they lasted 30 seconds or 5 minutes depended solely on their own elements and storytelling. After creating around 25 tracks with these characteristics, he sought a way to mix them together to form longer tracks that defied their own structure. That’s why some tracks seem like two or three combined into one.

All sounds are inspired by outer space, feeding off themselves in the crunchy, chewy sound that defines Von Krup, but with a more organic and sweet tint.
