DJEF is a breathtaking sonic journey resulting from Sibéri's intimate musical personality. A profoundly personal release that brings us into an innocent and familiar place. Says the artist:

"The EP originated from my natural need to explore my family archives and delve into the past in general. This archive material holds something very unique for me; it is the genuine gold extracted from the raw materials of history.

Upon my grandfather's passing, he left behind a room filled with pictures he had taken, which were stored on Dias to be projected as part of his montages or diashows. These diashows also contained some accompanying sound, which led me to discover a 4-track reel-to-reel tape recorder and playback device. Among the various tapes I found, some were experimental, unfinished projects, while others contained full-fledged recordings of his voice, music, and sound design, carefully put together for one of his 'slideshows.'

Having gathered all this captivating material, I began incorporating it into my own music creation, and something magical happened: my grandpa's voice, his sound design, and the music I was producing harmoniously fused together to become the EP you are about to listen to.

My hope is that this EP will inspire more people to delve deeper into their own selves, to explore personal, family, and community archives, and to extract the precious treasures hidden in the past."

"First of all thank you again for the invite, I’m super happy to be on italorator! It’s probably my favourite mix series at the moment.

Initially I tried to exclusively pick tacks that hadn't been featured on italorator before but I certainly missed some. In the end I went for a selection that best reflects my personal taste and appreciation for the genre, including some of my all time favorites and new found gems. Besides Italo I ventured into adjacent genres like early acid house and new beat but kept the overall vibe seductive and sleazy, just how I like it. I have been waiting for a chance to open a set with Einzelhaft by Falco (from one of the best albums ever made, no doubt) and this seemed like a worthy occasion."
