This series fuses Amapiano swing, Durban Gqom weight, and relentless techno pressure — layered with whistles, tribal shakers, and whooshing bass that breathes like an air hangar moving air. Minimal melodies rise and dissolve into haze, while percussion locks bodies into trance.

These aren’t just tracks — they’re rituals. Industrial rhythm fused with ancestral memory. A soundscape made for late-night festivals, underground basements, and movement without end.

Another lobster live set lands in the shape of Farbwechsel label head and all round purveyor of ambient, dubby, raw electronic vibes, S Olbricht. Set over a 51 minutes single take, the live set digs down through layers of skittering, moody electronics with ambiguously oscillating pads, crystalline synthesisers and effluent-drenched dirty drum work that segues between muffled, drowned kicks and almost classically-recorded toms. Themes explored and quickly discarded, only to reappear in new forms. The real stuff.

Q: How did you guys meet once and how did you develop the trademark Animal Trainer together?

A: We met in the club 15 years ago and we are still here. The Animal Trainer trademark is a good mix of passionate raving, serious business and heavy drinking done by a really old married couple.

Q: How did you spend your time since the lockdown(s) we had this year?

A: We always focus on the positive. We have a lot of new music, upgraded our studio, learned a lot and will make plans for the future when we go back to normal. 

Q: On what future projects are you currently working on?

A: We were talking about a second artist album since years. Maybe it will finally happen.
