After his massive, chart-topping Yoshitoshi debut last year with “Quark” (co-produced by Yoshitoshi regular Enamour), native Angelino Rinzen returns to the label with first Yoshi solo venture, The Odyssey EP, featuring Enamour on remix duty. The duo once again displays their creative compatibility on this masterfully-crafted release.

Rinzen’s originals showcase the clean, polished, and dynamic sound that has gained him support from names like Deadmau5, Deep Dish, Lane 8, and more. “The Odyssey” lives up to its name, taking listeners on an extended voyage that could function as the score for a futuristic film adaptation of Homer’s epic with it’s heavy drums, ethereal vocals, and cinematic melodies. “Siren Song” is a deep and hypnotic cut that shows Rinzen is capable of crafting more than just peak-time bangers; this one will function beautifully in warm up sets. Finally, Enamour puts his unique spin on “Siren Song,” cranking up the energy a bit with some impressive and immersive sound design. The package contains an exciting blend of sounds and styles that shows Rinzen is on the cutting edge of today’s wave of dance music and we can’t wait to share it with you.

When Deep Dish played Pacha Ibiza in 2018, it was one of the group's biggest reunion shows to date celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first show at Pacha, Ibiza. DJing to thousands at the legendary white isle club, the duo played an expertly crafted mix of tried-and-true classics, cutting-edge records, and unreleased material from both members. 

'Isolate,' leans much more towards dark, driving, and hypnotic techno. Sharam decided to tweak and finish the track as a result of the extended quarantine, and is his first isolation-inspired track (hence the name). Isolate's syncopated stabs build and stack on each other in a multitude of layers, coalescing into a complex, distorted, and infectious groove. The track wouldn't sound out of place on Sharam's 2017 techno album Collecti.

As Sharam's first solo effort of the new decade, it doesn't start on much of a higher point. The tracks demonstrate the veteran's ability to craft diverse and thought-provoking tracks that draw just enough on current trends to sound relevant but not enough to sound stagnant.

When Deep Dish played Pacha Ibiza in 2018, it was one of the group’s biggest reunion shows to date celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first show at Pacha, Ibiza. DJing to thousands at the legendary white isle club, the duo played an expertly crafted mix of tried-and-true classics, cutting-edge records, and unreleased material from both members. One of those tracks has been the subject of much attention, until now only available in the recording of the set released by Dancing Astronaut a year ago. Comments requesting its ID have inundated the page for months, with various DJ’s inquiring about it. Well, the time is upon us to finally unveil the mystery: “Do Ya” by Sharam. Built around a swirling, arpeggiated synth that comes and goes in many forms throughout its arrangement, the track balances elements of melodic techno, progressive house, and even golden-era trance to create something truly timeless. It’s really one of Sharam’s finest works in recent memory.

We’ve paired the track with another one from the label boss that’s been bubbling in his sets for quite some time, “Isolate,” which leans much more towards dark, driving, and hypnotic techno. Sharam decided to tweak and finish the track as a result of the extended quarantine, and is his first isolation-inspired track (hence the name). The goal of the Four Points series is to celebrate the international dance music scene, and this time is no different. With two acts from America and two from Germany, this new edition of the compilation bridges the Atlantic divide with four excellent new tracks and two Yoshitoshi debuts. Although clubs are closed, virtual parties and live streams have taken over the industry and new music is as important as ever, and we know these new tunes will find a happy home in your set, even if you’re playing from home.

Los Angeles native Rinzen starts things off with exactly the type of intricate melodic techno the producer is known for; big, pounding drums and fluttering synth riffs that intertwine throughout the arrangement create an intense sonic journey. Next up we have Rachel Raw and BOHO, the dynamic duo from Cologne, who made their massive debut on Yoshitoshi a few months ago with the Happening EP. “McQueen” is a dark and hypnotic roller that we could just love to hear in the club right about now. Berliner MUUI make his Yoshitoshi debut with “Panoptic Phase,” showcasing his brand of cerebral house music with swirling, arpeggiated synths and spacious pads. This one is perfect for the late hours of the night. Finally, Bostonians Warung round things out with “Memora,” an excellent addition to the package that shows why the young duo has already caught the ear of tastemakers like John Digweed and Waze & Odyssey. It’s deep and melodic house at its finest.
