2DE - Share The Light, Khem Reyall

I remember when I first recorded the light code transmission for this song. It was after I channeled my Lolo (which means Grandfather in tagalog). 

My Lolo passed away in his 50’s after having a heart attack and not having access to medical care - he lived in the Philippines, a very poor third world country where my Mother was born and raised.

I remember the night clearly. I was writing and dissecting multiple limiting beliefs that were holding me back, crying on my pages, ink bleeding as I felt every lie I had taken on as truth. 

I remember sobbing, with hurting hands and a heavy heart, in prayer, to my ancestors. For help, feeling their pain, feeling all the passed down trauma. 

Then my Lolo came through. He was a Karate Master and ran a dojo in the Philippines. I remember this fire stirring inside of my and was guided to move around my room. 

I felt this strength and power come alive, punching and kicking, breathing fire, moving with my breath and feeling him completely merge with my embodiment. 

I moved all the sadness out and alchemized it into power with his energetic support. I remember looking in the mirror and seeing him in my eyes as I stared at myself, breathing in strength.

He spoke to me through Light Language and shared messages of comfort and strength. 

I was awakened to my connection to ancestors I never really knew - him being one of them. I was awake to my power and this new level of connection I hadn’t felt before. Power that ran through my bloodline. 

This song pretty much captures that night in my room, recorded over a few months and completely in flow production. There were many times I gave up on this song because I wanted it to be perfect.

Letting go of that as a young producer and artist and with the support of my loved ones - we made it happen.

'Listen to the Earth' is a serenade, a sweet conversation and dance of listening, receiving and giving.

I've personally have been hearing the Earth speak to me through dreams and in my nature walks.
As I place my hands and ears on her tree trunks, roots and moss, I sometimes feel deep pain.
She is crying out for support, she needs medicine, she needs recovery.
At times, when we are in places that seem beautiful and healthy, we might fail to notice these subtle messages, but if we care enough to listen, she will tell you and show you what she feels.
The rape, the poison, the coercion, pollution, challenges are deeply felt.
She is alive, a living, sentient being, just like you and I.
A powerful force, mighty and strong - she can heal herself, yes.
But at what cost? Her love, so unconditional for us, so giving and nourishing.
Yet there are areas where she is infected by inconsiderate and unconscious minds.
She can heal herself, or, we can help give her medicine.
We can choose to hold space for her in the way she endlessly holds space for us.
If we choose to listen to her, she will show us how we can individually help her.

For some, it may be through prayer and song.
Others, it might be through picking up waste, even if it isn't ours.
You may be guided to consume less and shop differently.
Or perhaps you are guided to protect or rise in activism.

Whatever your medicine is, she needs you to share it with her.

May we all remember our connection, remember reciprocity, remember our ancient ways and unify with her as a sacred part of our Human evolution.

SACRED RAGE - Share The Light, Khem Reyall

'Kalayaan' meaning 'Freedom' in tagalog, is a sonic ode to ancestral healing as a Hapa. This song captures a very emotional process of seeking, remembering, feeling and exposing what lives deep inside my own DNA as one who has such a mixed background.

As I witness oppression, colonization, erasure and genocide in the world, I can't help but feel the remembrance of how I / we have been through it all before. 

Deep in my blood, my cellular memory, I witness and recall how the true indigenous Filipino culture, tradition and practices were lost. I witness the colonized mind within my filipino family members, the lost connection to what it means to be filipino and yet, from the other side - I feel my ancestors guiding me to remember and bring these ways back through my own embodiment.

Simultaneously, I search for ways to forgive the side of me that is white, the equal part of me that shares the history of being the oppressor, being the colonizer, being the cause for so much pain, grief, rage and loss. I feel this is something many who are of mixed race might feel - especially once on the path of deeper healing, soul remembrance and seeking truth.

This song is a marker for a chapter of deep reflection, research, questioning, processing, alchemy and healing for me. It's a journey of reaching out to Spirit, my guides, my ancestors and being in deep listening with the land, my inner guidance and how my ancestors wish to guide me along the way.

It's served me as a chapter of expanding my healing abilities, clairvoyance and empowerment to restore tradition, honor and practices that feel aligned. A catalyst into deeper levels of forgiveness, compassion and unconditional love.

I pray that this song serves those who are 'Hapa' like me, those who are devoted or just beginning their ancestral healing journey, who wish to restore what has been lost and who wish to learn more about who they are, where they came from and the truth of what we had to overcome to be here today. So that we can all know 'Kalayaan' that comes from within.
