Another re-imagining of what Om Kalsoum would sing about, and how she would it do it, if she were alive today. This year is 50 years since her passing away in 1975. She donated a lot of her time and money towards the end of her life to assist Egypt and others in the area, against the foreign colonising forces that were destabilising and disrupting the peace in the middle east. All proceeds from this track will be donated directly to people affected by war. I'm sure that's what she would've wanted.

Sharif Galal is a multifaceted figure in the Australian radio landscape. He has broadcast on several radio stations, and from different cities all over Australia. His love of music from all over the world and all over the music spectrum has seen him produce a variety of music and talk shows for community radio stations 3RRR (Melbourne), 4ZZZ (Brisbane) 2SER (Sydney), where he currently presents 'The Search Party', and he was one of the founding members and the first Music Director of FBi Radio in Sydney. On a national level, Sharif has broadcast for both SBS Radio and the ABC’s triple j. On SBS he produced and presented shows in both English and Arabic, while he was working there as a radio journalist. He is best remembered for his time at triple j, where he was the station’s Dance music expert for over 11 years, presenting both The Groove Train and Mix Up. Renowned for his laidback style and eclectic musical taste, he blends his love of the diverse genres and eras into his sets and music productions. Hailing from Sydney, he has become a cherished voice in the city's cultural tapestry, infusing his broadcasts with a deep appreciation for local talent while also championing global sounds. Beyond the airwaves, he spends most of his time in his studio producing music, blending the sounds of his cultural background (Egyptian/Arabic/Middle Eastern) with the sounds that he has championed on air and live together in what is known as ‘Global Fusion’.  With an unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and fostering community through music, Sharif Galal remains an influential force shaping Sydney's vibrant radio scene.
