Signal Surfer, Pt. 1

This song grew from a simple melody I came up with while noodling on an old piano at a local dive bar.  Captivated by its haunting quality, I recorded it into my phone's voice memo then later recreated it in Logic with an analog synth. Once I added drums and bass it took on a pulsing, retro soundtrack shape, reminding me of the theme song from television's Knight Rider. I'd come up with the title "Vibe Rider" (and the phrase "Riding the Vibe") and decided it was perfect for this track.  I kept the name secret for months while I refined the track but a Spotify search yielded several existing songs with that name, as well as an artist, so, with the help of a supportive friend, the title became "Vibe Driver" instead.  Evoking imagery of neon reflections on slick city streets, it's the perfect turbo-charged start of this new album.
