The Madeye

Grief is like a distant friend now who just pops by unannounced wanting to stay for a while. It’s weirdly enjoyable to catch up. I feel closer to Mum in those moments. But if this distant friend has taught me anything, it’s that love renders time meaningless. It doesn’t really amount to anything when you love someone. How I feel for Mum, and how I know she feels for me - will be the same today as it will the day I die. And even the day after I die, that love’ll still exist. Kinda cool really. Think of all the crazy love we’re existing in right now from people who’ve already passed. There’s so much of it everywhere. Hard to feel at times like this but it surrounds us. We just need to quieten ourselves to feel it. That distant friend came over last week, so we wrote this song together x
