Andrew's deft, intuitive approach to DJing extends beyond the decks: He runs the esteemed ESP Institute label and is a well-established graphic designer and creative director. His work is infused with a warmth and enthusiasm that was readily apparent in our exchanges as we discussed this mix.

‘For home use only’ is an anti-club social, a chance to get to know someone/something. A series of transmissions purely dedicated to exploring the other side.

As our trajectory accelerates head-first into another year, it’s more important than ever to slow down and catch your breath. As automatic as that may seem, I’m talking more about the metaphorical meaning of breath aka a self-imposed moment of peace and quiet. To comprehend such a thing nowadays it’s crucial to have a soundtrack, and this episode of FHUO from the Daisy Records crew is the perfect accompaniment to refill the oxygen tanks. Frankifettucini & Obelix have created something truly special in this two-hour time frame, a magical trip through the sky, hopping from cloud to cloud, chasing a never-ending sunset. 

This mix is a true masterclass in immersion, which is what you would expect from two music nuts who run an incredible record store, as well as releases under the Daisy Records sub-label and curated events that really showcase what Naarm has to offer. They get it, and so will you after you listen to this. Enlightenment at its absolute finest, lose yourself then proceed to find yourself. See you on the other side.

Hey y’all! We’re back! This one has been a long time coming. I’m extremely excited to present to you the latest Idle Cellars mix, made by Melbourne’s Jazz-Funk-Cosmic-Disco masters Mildlife! A bit of a hail-mary pass, it was a dream to ask these guys to give us a mix for the series and I’m so happy they said yes! Kev McDowell, who sings and plays synths, put the mix together on the heels of re-starting their excellent Very Fantastic Radio podcast (which you should go subscribe to immediately) and he’s handed in a stone-cold-killer of a mix, a 90-minute journey through more genres than you can count. Which is well-Balearic in our book! 

I have been a staunch advocate of this band since hearing their defining single “The Magnificent Moon” back in 2017. Their music has been a revelation to me and, after seeing them something like five times I can safely say they are one of the best live acts in the world at the moment. Do not sleep on them, and if you haven’t heard their albums Phase, Automatic or Chorus, get thee to a record shop, stat!

Andres Astorga, aka ”Trujillo", aka "the Venezuelan don", feels most at home in the cosmic Caribe. The monthly mixes he put out from 2009 - 2016 are legendary and he has a real good feeling for finding that special record everyone will be after. (See Johnny Lamas if you need convincing). 

For "5918mins.", the don is dimming the light a little bit, slicking back his hair and showing us his sensual side. Hope you enjoy the ride.
