Witnessing a repressive government which keeps its power at any cost, Sha Ru wrote "White Red White, Keep Up the Fight!" EP. Filled with dark atmospheres, it tells the story of people fighting for their freedom and rights.

All the profits from the release will be going to the Belarus Solidarity Foundation (BYSOL).

The sound reverberated and danced as if it were under the possession of some strange outside spirit or influence. It echoed and pierced the ears as it grew louder and louder. The anticipation was too much for some who began to exit through the small door at the top of the room. Those who were more committed waited in observation of the risers' ode. 

The scientists conducting the experiment were brave in their approach - few had tried to breach the wall of sound before, testing the very limits of circumstance and noise. 

Soon they might hit fever pitch.

Sha Ru are a New York via Berlin based duo made up of Masha and Ru. Sha Ru are two musicians in constant flux, always discovering new iterations of themselves. Future facing, bass heavy loops and reverberating vocals mark a new era for the band one defined by artistic autonomy, intimacy and experimentation.

The pair are set to release a new EP on Jupiter4 - an intriguing assortment of electronic experiments.

PREMIERE: Sha Ru - Risers' Ode [Jupiter4]

Written in 2021, “Time Turns Liquid” explores the perception of time-warping between periods of complete isolation and the realignment of what “normal life” is after such a confounding time; where what life was, is, and will be, starts to blur entirely.

The record also highlights the importance of being together as well as looking out for each other during such uncertain times. Currently, life has jolted itself back into a sense of normalcy, which feels like a pendulum swing into the present. Between these intervals, we pushed ourselves to the absolute limit whilst reaching creative peaks and valleys in ourselves that weren’t visible previously.

Across the release, time stretches are emphasised by the switch to half-time in every single song, which creates a purposeful moment of introspection: once the track returns to the original pace, the perception of time reminds listeners of the extra energies that take your body and mind to places yet to be unearthed. In Sha Ru’s own words: “The EP reflects upon the perception of how life starts to stretch and lose its shape.“

We've been terrified by the violence in response to the peaceful protests against recent presidential elections. We wrote this song to send our support to Belarusian people fighting for their future.
