Shata Mata is a producer and musician based in Cologne, Germany and found her inspiration in multicultural pulsating music scenes of the late 80s and early 90s as well as traveling and meeting musicians from all over. Her work represents a personal synthesis of organic sounds and electronic elements. Her music moves between the boundaries of melodic downtempo, slow house, ethnic electronica, experimental and tribal. She experiments with ethnic and tribal samples as well as with typical synth sounds. As a multi instrumentalist, Shata Mata plays a variety of instruments such as flutes, percussions and keys that are played and sampled in her productions and live sets to create intense energy and organic depth, opening up a space for individual resonance and exploration.
