Will You Be Ready?

Shatawn "Sapphire Soul" Reid was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She started writing poetry in November 2007. Her poetry started out as love poetry and has expanded to much more over the years. Her first performance was on January 30, 2010 at the Literary Cafe and Poetry Lounge in North Miami owned by the late, great Will "Da Real One" Bell. She has performed at several different poetry events including Verbal Calligraphy, the Bohemia Room, and Trapped in My Thoughts Presented by Art-N-Hustle; as well as others. Her biggest accomplishment was placing 3rd at the For Colored Girls Poetry Slam held on October 27, 2010 at the Bohemia Room hosted by Ingrid Bazin; CEO of B Side Entertainment. At the end of 2011, Shatawn "Sapphire Soul" Reid accepted the calling to use her gift of poetry for the one who graced her with that gift, GOD. Now her desire to minister to others what the LORD would have her to say. She has a heart for poetry and a drive to provide a positive message to all who hear and read her words. She is driven by the basis that God has given her the gift to speak to His people and so she has embraced the gift by doing what He has ordained. Her mission is to always inspire others.
