Cover of the Miles Davis classic 'All Blues', as recorded on the live album My Funny Valentine. Davis attributed the harsh tone of the concert to John F. Kennedy, who had been recently assassinated. The My Funny Valentine concert was dedicated to John F. Kennedy.

The title song from the 2006 Costello/Tousaint album 'The River In Reverse' was written in response to Hurricane Katrina.  The River in Reverse was the one song on the album written exclusively by Elvis Costello, yet it still displays a certain New Orleansy groove to it.

When asked about the meaning of Little Wing, Hendrix explained that the song referred to the mythologies of the Native American people. Just as Jimi Hendrix later passed, the spirit of the Native Americans did, as the US did all they could to assimilate them, as well as stealing their land and murdering them.
