Born in Vienna, Soumez has been touring the USA, UK and the African Continent as well as a numerous European countries as a DJ since the late 1990s. The musical influences from his travels shape his unique style, which is characterized by a seamless fusion of diverse musical styles. Soumez is driven by the fascination of opposites: both his productions and his DJ sets always combine the bitter with the sweet and the brute with the smooth. What emerges is the exciting new, the gripping and the hypnotic.

Harvey Sutherland, the Melbourne-born record producer, keyboard player, club DJ and bandleader, made a name amongst his hometown’s electronic underground with a string of cult dance singles. Early 12-inches like ‘Bermuda’ and ‘Priestess’ were records in love with classic soul and disco, but his debut album ‘Boy’ was guided by his obsessional traits and habits, ending up in a place he describes as “Neurotic Funk”. 

Boy has seen widespread acclaim since its release, with Resident Advisor noting “[his] sense of musicality has always been head and shoulders above his peers...his songs are full-blooded and fleshed-out…” His latest material is an exercise in techno minimalism — laser-focused club jams like ‘Hummingbird’ and ‘Nobody Like U’ set the stage for Harvey’s next chapter. 

His machine grooves are fired through a prism of crate-digging influences, from Todd Rundgren to Basic Channel and back again. His distinctive synthesiser tones have graced remixes and production for Disclosure, Khruangbin, Genesis Owusu and BadBadNotGood. A seasoned performer, he’s taken his live band to Glastonbury, dragged his Juno-60 into Berghain and turned the Melbourne Recital Centre into a full-fledged nightclub. Eclectic and groovy, Harvey Sutherland is Neurotic Funk.

With more than 20 years of performance experience around the world.
Born and raised in Ukraine, he began his music career in the early 2000s. Organising own events and performing as DJ in various clubs.  During a weekend he could play in more than five venues in a row. Opening an evening with soulful & deep house moods in restaurants and pre-parties, he normally continued in night clubs, playing intensive house & techno rhythms, and closer to morning he could be detected in some of numerous afterparties, transmitting massive progressive vibes.  

In the middle of 2010s he moved to Vietnam, where he proceeded arranging exclusive events and touring around South-East Asia.

Technical and spiritual elements of his music vision have been developing over the years.
Giving preferences to various kinds of electronic music, he eventually formed his unique style, where mesmerising depth goes together with strong dynamics, immersing listeners into the atmosphere of surrealism and phantasmagoria, allowing to perceive full interconnection between your body and soul..
