RuMIX Teaser- Sydney Mardi Gras 2012

I am a visual artist, business owner @wildbarra music lover and Founder of the Haus of Blackstar. I started out creating events back in 1989 with a reg night for the local First Nations kids in Gimuy, Cairns, The club was called Youths International. We had a spot at a local nightclub club on the Cairns Waterfront. It later turned into a weekend safe space at the Nest Nightclub.
The DJing started after working with role models from NYC. In 2008 Haus of Blackstar was born in Sydney. The first, First Nations Haus. Our Haus mentors where and continue to be DJ Corey Craig, The Ones, Vjuan Allure (dec), and Superstar season 9 runner up of Rupauls Drag Race, Peppermint.
We ran a heap of safe space parties and vogue workshops for the First Nations LGBTI Brotherboy and Sistergirl community and our allys. We had no $$ but our need to creating safe spaces was important to save lives, so we used what money we had.
Djing started becoming more of a thing. Djing for Boomalli art Gallery Sydney Mardi Gras Exhibition openings, Blackstar Events and private parties.

Dj style is Dance, Electro Pussy Pop, Disco, SISSY/SHIM.

2023 - Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras - Boomali Boomalli's 35th Anniversary Exhibition Opening, Sydney
2023 - Cannes in Cairns Festival - Chanel 9 Activation.
