Silent Night (Getting into the Holiday Spirit)

Inspired by many random thoughts...This piece is a copulation of many ideas and experiences that summarize down to my simplified definition of a Kata. A Kata is a serious of choreographed actions that accumulate into a training exercise which can force one to confront one’s self in-order known one’s self better as well as to strengthen, condition, learn, and grow.  As one continues to work through the Kata they potentially move closer or farther away from the intended objectives.

Just getting back from a much needed short vacation and felt like singing and did a short mini cover of an old old favorite tune. "I Can Sing of Your Love Forever", written, roughly in 1997 and performed by a Christian rock group named Delirious. Lyrics done by Martin Smith.

After work tonight, on may way to my car I was just staring out at the sky, maybe reminiscing on what sort of amazing view would be possible with out the crazy light pollution the city offers. Or I was simply delirious and needed to go home. Either way, this tune from my childhood was running through my mind the whole way home. Maybe I should quit it all and move to the simple north :D

The full name is "Holy Holy Holy (God With Us)", I think is written by Matt Maher and based on Isaiah 6:1-6.

While I know I should be in bed, I'm in vacation mode and up messing around with a slightly modern take on this old old hymn.

Background percussion is a combinations of random elements in my apartment and a pair of drumsticks

Serving on praise this past Sunday was just enough to kick me back into it!

Tonight, I decided to noodle around on a song that was on my heart and record a quick cover. "Say The Word" by Hillsong United.

The primes of this song looks at the idea that God spoke things into being. Scripture references include: Proverbs 30.5

(Thought of The Day) -> Inspiration...

This is my first attempt and an 8Bit style piece with the NES sounds only. 

I found some killer sound fonts with 8Bit NES, SNES and Sega Genesis samples. There will be more old video game inspired pieces to come.

MegaMan2 Wylie Level Theme

My goal with this piece was to attempt a bit of a narrative story. In this I chose not to tackle a full story but to focus on a pivotal moment in time. The kinda moment where one has to put it all one the line. 

This is my first time attempting an idea like this. Feedback is welcome. Do you think I achieved my goals on this? I am interested in hearing about your perceptions of what is presented.

This is also my first piece showcasing a Roland JV 1080. Also showcased in this piece is a gaggle of VSTis and a Casio wk-1800.
